Police officers Turned Robbers Arrested In Lagos

Sequel to the viral video from Ekwutousi Philo, a skit maker, alleging that she was robbed on 20th October, 2023, along Ketu-Alapere Highway by some policemen, the Decoy Team of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) has arrested Sunday Osagie, 31, who was captured in a video with the skit maker. Also arrested with the suspect is Ayodele Adeolu (45), while a ‘korope’ with the registration number LA 910 FST and a Toyota Yaris Verso with the registration number FST 656 JD have been recovered. Sunday Osagie, was a Spy/Mechanic employed by the Lagos State Government in May 2011. He was dismissed from Lagos State Public Service and dekitted in April 2023 for “absence from duty for six months without permission, illegal duties, and extortion of money from innocent citizens” after facing the Personnel Management Board (PMB). At last! Court Sentences Lagos Doctor to Life Imprisonment for Raping Wife’s Niece

Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence has pronounced a significant verdict. The case began on November 29, 2021, with the Defendant’s arrest based on a complaint by his wife on behalf of the prosecutrix. The case involved defilement and sexual assault charges. During the trial, 10 witnesses were called, and 9 testified. The judge meticulously examined the evidence, including witness testimonies, exhibits, and final written addresses submitted by the parties. Justice Oshodi outlined the charges against the Defendant, Dr. femi Olaleye, focusing on whether he had engaged in sexual acts with the prosecutrix against her will. The court considered the Defendant’s claim that the prosecutrix was not a child at the time, which was refuted by medical evidence indicating her age. The prosecutrix’s account detailed multiple instances of abuse, including fondling, forced oral sex, and defilement. The judge found her testimony consistent and corroborated by medical evidence. The Defendant’s admission of guilt to various individuals, including the DPO at Maryland police station, was a pivotal factor. Justice Oshodi dismissed the Defendant’s statements, citing falsehood. The Defendant was consequently sentenced to LIFE IMPRISONMENT for count 1 and 2 of the charge and that same should be run concurrently.The Court further an order directing that the name of the Defendant be entered in the name of sexual offenders in Lagos State. 174 Views

A high court sitting in Lagos has sentenced Drambi Vandi, the officer involved in the killing of Bolanle Raheem, a lawyer, to death by hanging. Ibironke Harrison, the trial judge, in her ruling on Monday, convicted Vandi of a one-count charge of murder. Mohbad: We’ve responded to police enquiry since September 28, 2023- NDLEA

Following media enquiries on the claim by the Lagos state police command at a press conference on Friday 6th October 2023 that it was yet to get a response from the NDLEA on social media allegations bordering on alleged arrest and detention of the late artiste, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, aka MohBad, the Agency will like to state that indeed its response was sent and received by the police since Thursday 28th September 2023. Indeed, to show the seriousness with which the Agency treated the issue, our formal response dated Thursday 28th September 2023 was sent by flight to Lagos, delivered and received by the police on Thursday 28th September. The summary of our response is reproduced below for the benefit of the inquiring public: “We also heard the unsubstantiated allegation on social media that Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, aka MohBad, was arrested and detained by NDLEA on the 24th of February 2022 and given a substance to drink. In response to this allegation, we wish to state categorically that MohBad was never arrested nor was he ever detained in the custody of the NDLEA on the said date or any other date before or after. Joint Nigerian Army Bursts IPOB/ESN Combatants Hideouts In Abia, Enugu, Recover Artillery Guns

Joint troops of 82 Division Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Police have neutralised 3 combatants of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate, Eastern Security Network (ESN) in a fierce encounter that ensued during a clearance operation in the early hours of Monday 18 September 2023 at Igboro Forest, between Arochukwu and Ohafia Local Government Areas of Abia state. On winning the fire fight, the troops wasted no time destroying several hideous camps used by members of the groups to perpetrate heinous crimes. The camps were uncovered, after several weeks of credible surveillance revealed that IPOB/ESN were using the forest as a combat training ground for their members and as a base for planning and launching attacks on targeted civilians, security operatives and government facilities in the state. On further exploiting the camp, the gallant troops recovered several weapons and ammunition, amongst others. The Items recovered include One improvised 16 Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) Gun mounted on a vehicle, One improvised 12 MBRL Gun, One improvised 6 MBRL Gun, One AK 47 Rifle, One Dane Gun, 6 locally made Rocket Launchers, four Improvised Explosive Devices, five Fragmental Jackets, One Baofeng Radio, Military Camouflage Uniforms and several assorted charms. In a similar development that also took place in the early hours of today, 18 September 2023, same troops of 82 Division NA in synergy with the Nigerian Police Force, acting on credible intelligence busted IPOB/ESN hideout at Ezioha Mgbowo in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu state. The armed fighters were perfecting plans to enforce the illegal sit-at-home order in the area, when the vigilant troops swooped on them. The armed fighters, who opened fire on sighting troops approaching their camp were however defeated in the fire fight that followed, as the troops responded with overwhelming fire power, neutralizing three of the fighters, while others fled in disarray. DSS DISCOVERS PLOT TO STAGE VIOLENT PROTESTS IN THE COUNTRY

The Department of State Services (DSS) stated that it has uncovered plans by some elements in parts of the country to stage violent protests in order to discredit the Federal Government and security agencies over sundry socioeconomic matters. Intelligence reports have indicated that the plotters include certain politicians who are desperately mobilising unsuspecting student leaders, ethnic based associations, youth and disgruntled groups for the planned action. In view of this development, University Vice-Chancellors and Heads of Tertiary Institutions are advised to discourage their students from engaging in acts capable of derailing public peace. The Lagos State Government has announced that the Blue Line Rail will start commercial operations on Monday, September 4th 2023. The Blue Line Rail will move from Marina to Mile 2.
