Yes, the highly anticipated edition of the Nigerian Broadcasters Nite (NBN) in Ibadan is
done and dusted! It was another successful outing, though a shorter night, but one that was precise, and on point!
Interestingly, what was slated to be a night for two ended up to be a glory night for only Ronke Giwa, no thanks to Edmund Obilo’s unannounced exit from the event. While the numerous fans of Edmund are still waiting for his apology for leaving them in the cold, Ronke not only dazzled in her sexy outfit; Ronnie G’s beautiful smiles left naughty thoughts running through the minds of her male fans.
The event, which was anchored by Don T, Splash FM’s ace presenter and nominee for 2012 NBMA’s Sexiest On-Air Personality, was packaged by Twenty 8’05 Concepts, in conjunction with The Reality Entertainment.
Shortly before the show started around 9pm, DJ Gavpop, one of the biggest DJs in South-west Nigeria wowed the crowd with his great mixes on the deck. Fans and friends of Ronke Giwa couldn’t resist the vibes as they rocked all through the night.
Bcode, the Lagos based aspiring music star led other gifted upcoming acts for a one-of-its-kind electrifying performance of the night.
It was a memorable night for Ronke Giwa, as the radio beau got more kudos than knocks from her friends and fans, who bombarded her with questions during the popular ‘Hot Seat’. The gifted voice over artist cum orator, who anchors the breakfast show, ‘Morning Splash’, perfectly handled both the good, and the naughty remarks, and she could not conceal her joy when she was presented the ‘Certificate of Honour’ for being crowned the NBMA’s Most Popular Radio Presenter in Nigeria (South-West).
In Ronke’s words, “I really appreciate this recognition and I want to thank the organizers, my family, friends and all of you present tonight to celebrate with me. I pray that one day you all will be celebrated and to everyone I would say keep giving your best in all you do and one day you will surely be celebrated. Honestly this wasn’t what I had in mind to do for a living but believe me sometimes nature sure can take its course; it’s up to us to follow our heart and give our all. Thank You,” she said.
The Nigerian Broadcasters Nite held at the prestigious Club Echo, Ring Road, Ibadan, had in attendance a couple of popular broadcasters, top On-Air Personalities and society bigwigs. The event was supported by Splash FM, Club Echo, Crown Natures Nigeria Limited, Travelhouse Budget Hotels, Mabo Large Format Prints, Villa Alero and Pixel.
However, as the fourth in the series of the Nigerian Broadcasters Nite has been held in Ibadan, it’s no longer news that the monthly event is now on hold till next year 2014. This is due to preparations toward the fourth edition of the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards (NBMA) 2013 slated for November, 2013, which are now in full swing…
