Liberty Radio Stole The Show As Nigerian Broadcasters Nite Unites ‘All’ in Kaduna (+ Images)

May 31st, 2014 will for sometime linger in the minds of veteran broadcasters, top on-air personalities and ace presenters in Kaduna as the highly hyped bi-monthly Nigerian Broadcasters Nite (NBN) not only rocked the famous city to its roots, it exposed the unity among the top radio and TV stations in Kaduna, which left The Reality Entertainment, the organisers learning a few lessons.

Call it a ground breaking event; you may not have been wrong. Fans and friends of Liberty Radio 91.7FM not only came in their multitudes to celebrate and of course to catch glimpses of the top voices who they only heard on radio. Top dignitaries, society bigwigs and those who matter in the Kaduna broadcasting industry were not left out of the groove.

It was a memorable night for Liberty Radio, as the hottest radio station in Kaduna not only received its ‘Certificate of Honour’ for being crowned the NBMA’s ‘Radio Station of the Year’ in 2013, ATAR Communication Nigerian Limited, owners of Liberty Radio seized the opportunity to unveil the logo of their new TV station that will commence transmission any minute from now…June 12 to be precise.

Interestingly, it was not only a night of honour for Liberty Radio; a couple of popular presenters, programmes, Radio and TV stations went home with ‘Certificate of Excellence’ courtesy of Gangariya Radio Award, the NBN partners.

The event, anchored by the duo of Liberty Radio ace presenter, Jeffrey Isaac and Raypower FM’s station manager, Mrs Binta Saidu, witnessed excellent performances from Imaobong a.k. a Sabi Girl, P-Son, Bishop Talk and DJ Whiz. The sexy and sweet voice presenter Zuliat Bello a.k.a ZT of Liberty Radio and Al-Amin of Brilla FM handled the red carpet reception.

However, in his speech at the event that was broadcast, live, on Liberty Radio and NTA, Kaduna, Dr. Ahmed Tijjani Ramalan, the Chief Executive Chairman of Liberty radio, could not conceal his joy, he commended The Reality Entertainment, the organisers of the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards (NBMA) for bringing its bi-monthly Broadcasters Nite (NBN) to Kaduna. Dr. Ramalan canvassed for more categories for presenters, TV and radio stations in the north and also emphasised the importance of separating Abuja from the Northern category of the yearly NBMA. He believed that Abuja should be in contest with Lagos state.

Among the important dignitaries present at the event held at NAF Bouquet Hall Kaduna, were Honourable Nasiru El Rufai, former FCT Minister , Alhaji Yusuf Saulawa, MD Nagarta AM Radio Kaduna, Alhaji Mohammed Nanu, Director National Broadcasting Commission  (NBC) Representing DG Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) Abuja, Zonal Director NBC Kaduna, Alhaji Bala Hassan, Zonal Director NTA Kaduna, Alhaji Abba Zayyan Zonal Director FRCN Kaduna and former Executive Director KSMC 90.9 FM Kaduna, Barrister Aliyu Abdullahi,Legal Adviser Northern Broadcast Media Owners Association (NBMA, Alhaji Rabiu Ibrahim, MD News Partners Ltd Organisers of Gangariya Radio Awards Kaduna, Dr Khalifa Dikwa, Former Lecturer University of Maiduguri and Public Commentator, Hajiya Hadiza Gabon, Kannywood star actress cum Director and host of others.

However, as the sixth in the series of the Nigerian Broadcasters Nite has been held in Kaduna, the moving train of the bimonthly gig, designed to further celebrate the achievements of the Nigerian broadcast industry and its practitioners, will be making another stopover in Lagos in July.
