May 30th was another date that will forever be remembered by some of the On-air Personalities who witnessed the second edition of the monthly Nigerian Broadcaster’s Nite at the prestigious Club Vegas in Ikeja, Lagos.
The initial gloomy night which eventually sparkled with various activities till the early morning turned out to be that special day for DJ ShyShy Shyllon, the Evergreen Presenter cum DJ and Uche Okoli, the ebullient lady behind Reel Radio, the popular online radio station.
Although, Denrele Edun who headlined the event alongside DJ ShyShy Shyllon, twitted to have missed his flight from South Africa and the reason for his absence, fans, friends and colleagues drank to the health of Uche Okoli, as the boss lady whose birthday happened to be a day before the night, was celebrated.
As planned, Hohlumeday, the banker turned singer thrilled the crowd with her two new singles. T-Quest, another aspiring music star wowed all with his new song, while the ever blazing DJ Chascolee of Rainbow 94.1 FM’s superb mixes on wheels-of-steel, kept the crowd dancing till the arrival of DJ ShyShy Shyllon.
The highlights of the event included a popping of champagne for the birthday girl, Uche Okoli and the presentation of Certificate of Honour to DJ ShyShy Shyllon as the Evergreen Presenter/DJ in Nigeria. “I actually was not expecting this, in truth I appreciate it so much and hope never to stop doing what I know how to do best,” ShyShy said after receiving his certificate.
DJ ShyShy Shyllon, the reason for the night took over to prove his dexterity on the wheels-of-steel as the baby-face DJ dazed all with great mixes that got all wondering if he was born with a turntable. De-Don, the ace humour merchant who doubled as the host was not left out of the fun, the presenter of the popular Comedy Hour on radio spiced up the night with amazing jokes that got many reeling with laughter.
The event, supported by Crown Nature Nigeria Limited, Goldmyne Entertainment and Club Vegas, is set aside to celebrate past winners of the notable Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards (NBMA) had the likes of Ewnwereji Ugo, Lanre Tijani, Ajibola Akinyele, Raphael Enisan, Sola Rogers, Chris D’ Razor , Chi-Chi, Churchill , Omar Akatugba, Sabongeri Sophisticated, Spicy, Temi, DJ Chascolee among other On-Air Personalities.
