Toke Makinwa: Media personality pens emotional note to late mother

Author and Vlogger Toke Makinwa marked her late mother, Modupe Makinwa‘s posthumous birthday with an emotional message. The OAP took to Instagram today, Thursday, August 31, 2017. Recall that in her book “On Becoming” she revealed they, the media personality and her siblings, lost their parents to a fire when they were only kids. Now, she’s written about how much she misses her mother and wondered just how close they would be if she were alive. She wrote, “I called you in prayer today mama, if you were here you’ll be a year older but you not so I pray for your soul. My beautiful Rose Happy Birthday Mama, as I grow older I miss you more than words can tell, I wonder how close we would be if you were here, I carry you in my heart always I celebrate you every day. You served God, you were kind and your light shines still. Keep resting, keep praying for us, keep watching over us #August 31.” Meanwhile, Toke Makinwa is currently on set of her acting debut film titled, “Makate Must Sell.” Directed by Don Omope, who produced the highest grossing Nollywood movie “The Wedding Party,” “Makate Must Sell” assembles some popular comedy actors. GENEVIEVE NNAJI MAKES HOLLYWOOD DEBUT

Based on Adewale’s childhood, “Farming” tells story of a young Nigerian boy, ‘farmed out’ by his parents to a white British family in the hope of a better future. Instead, he becomes the feared leader of a white skinhead gang. The upcoming autobiographical story features Nnaji alongside Hollywood actors Kate Beckinsale, Damon Idris and Gugu Mmbatha-Raw. Idris plays the young Nigerian boy, Enitan, Beckinsale plays the white foster mother Ingrid, while Mbatha-Raw plays a kind teacher who offers Enitan a chance at redemption. Nnaji’s role is currently unknown. Genevieve Nnaji, a Nollywood veteran who is popular for classic movies such as “Ije” and “Keeping Faith,” recently made her directorial debut with the upcoming movie, “LionHeart.” The movie which was shot in Enugu State features the actress in a lead role alongside Steve Eboh, Pete Edochie, Kalu Ikeagwu, Onyeka Onwenu, Nkem Owoh, Kanayo O Kanayo, Ngozi Ezeonu, Phyno, Peter Okoye among others. Written by C.J Fiery Obasi based on a screenplay by Ishaya Bako and Emil Garuba, “Lion Heart” follows the story of an Igbo family that is into transport business. Nnaji’s directorial debut comes after the success of the 2015 movie “Road to Yesterday,” which introduced her as a movie producer.
